In the park optimization project, with a willingness to enhance human conditions, I volunteered to modify the layout of the park by applying data visualization in Python
Although my plan has not been adopted due to lack of fund, doing this is important to me. I deemed it an opportunity to practice the PythonI have newly learned in the lockdown. The huge sense of fulfillment generated in programming and the repeated adjustment to make everything more academic and professional is beyond description. This process also is a perfect manifestation of my idea that technology should serve real-life problem solving.
One unexpected perk of this experience is that it brought me closer to my community. When collecting data, I would interview some visitors and asked them which part of the park they like best, virtually increasing my interaction with neighbors. Now I have known more people in this living quarter. During regular morning run, more hellos truly make my day.
